TellFinder and the Fight Against Human Trafficking

DARPA Memex program search tools characterize potentially illicit online activities

Reporting on DARPA’s efforts to combat human trafficking, a recent Defense.gov post highlights TellFinder, Uncharted’s tool for exposing hidden connections in hard-to-search domain spaces. TellFinder XHT extends to the online escort advertisement domain by allowing investigators to search for identifying attributes that can reveal behaviors and identities of traffickers. Along with other tools developed for the DARPA Memex program, TellFinder is now being used by law enforcement agencies to detect and prosecute perpetrators who facilitate sex trafficking.
