National emergencies and global volatility require timely detection and intervention policies backed by the latest science. But vital knowledge about complex scientific models that inform such policies may be buried in code, literature, or supplementary materials that are time consuming to parse and build upon. The prestigious journal Science highlights Uncharted’s AI-powered Terarium platform as a way to rapidly “interact with and edit [these] models, without touching the code itself.”
Terarium automatically “rehydrates” existing models from equations in research materials so that scientists can accelerate their understanding and repurpose prior findings. As noted by Uncharted Managing Partner Pascale Proulx, a key challenge in designing Terarium was to:
present the results back to the researcher in a way that they could make sense of it and validate that the results were accurate.
Terarium ensures this tranparency by “[documenting] every decision—from code changes to scientific assumptions,” helping researchers quickly build insights and advance science in their field.
